My little brother (he's seventeen...) is a very strange character indeed. Loud and obnoxious, he's a very deep thinker with that endearing geeky awkwardness mixed in. He's the only person (other than yours truly...) who can quote from old talkies and from modern sci-fi flicks and movies, often in the same sentence. He's also the only person I know who enjoys life and is a little emo on the side (ok, make that a lot emo on the side, who else wears a Fedora and a Nightmare Before Christmas tie together?). Here's a pretty ridiculous excerpt from a conversation we had today about his MSN screen name - "I want to love but the pain was too unbearable"
maddy: "stop making your screen name so emo... makes me want to slit my wrists"
I want to love but the pain was too unbearable says (henceforth known as 'brother'): " >.<" isn't it strange that we actually understand the feeling behind this series of characters?
maddy: "yeah that's right... you heard me"
brother: "doesn't mean I have to change it tho"
maddy: "doesn't mean you have to mope around like some emo suck either"
brother: "I'm not moping, I go out and enjoy life"
maddy: "your screen name says otherwise and you're a terrible oxymoron"
brother: "I've been saying that for years"
maddy: "i know"
brother: "and it could be worse, I could have a blog"
maddy: "shut up... i have a blog"
brother: "lol, they say that the really lame emos have blogs and stuff"
maddy: "but mine's full of beautiful pictures of my baby and not some emo shit"
brother: "case in point, you have a life"
maddy: "yes i do... but it doesn't deviate much from obsessively taking pictures of my kid"
brother: "just those 6 pics?"
maddy says: "well... yes"
brother: "so much for 'obsessively taking pictures of my kid' "
maddy: "shut up!!"
brother: "lol they're very nice and you should add more"
maddy: "thank you... and btw I have over 400 pictures of her. so, nah."
brother: "not for your Canada day shoot"
maddy: "don't make me say it...."
brother: "say what?"
maddy: "shut up..."
Ah brother, may the gods smile on you and may you never change.
I'm a bit confused?? And disappointed expected the find a conversation filled with quotes from old talkies and from modern sci-fi flicks and movies, all thought your msn chat.
