A little blurb on weddings

| | Comments (1)

So there's that wedding today. I'm really not looking forward to it. I mean, Phil left at 8 this morning to go to breakfast with the rest of the male wedding party (he's an usher) and I'm stuck at home until his aunt picks me up. I won't be able to talk to him until the reception and even then, I won’t know anyone except the newlyweds and the groom's mom. Incidentally, I have been placed at a table away from the head table with most of the bride's side of the family who flew all the way from England just to be here. I’m also not looking forward to a run-in with Phil's mother whom I've never met and who disowned him when his parents divorced. Gah! Why are Christmas parties and wedding receptions the places where the skeletons are dragged out of the closet and onto the dance floor?

I know, I know. I shouldn't let this bother me and I should try to mingle and have a great time. Well how about me not liking how this wedding is taking place and that the entire grooms family feels the same? I guess you can't control everyone into your grand master plan of world domination, right? A little consolation is that I’m going to be 10 lbs lighter then I was at my wedding and the bride’s going to be 10 lbs heavier. Evil I know, but if it makes me feel a little better it’s okay... right?

Ahh ... wedding and funerals bring out the "best", don't they? Just hang in there, and leave as early as politically correct as possible :) Can't wait to see how it all turns out!
